Letters of Alfred, Lord Tennyson [manuscript], 1872-1873.

In the first letter, addressed only to "Dear Sir" [1872 Jan. 30, Farringford], Tennyson regrets that he cannot attend a bishop's consecration ceremony, and encloses a portion of a subscription. In the second letter [1872 Nov. 13, Farringford], Tennyson thanks Dr. Bennett for a poem and a quotation from Herrick. Emily (Sellwood) Tennyson writes to Bennett [London] in the third letter [1873 May 27, Farringford] that Tennyson will inscribe some books and have them sent to the Guild Hall Library.
